Book Spotlight — Adult Coloring Books Devotionals

14 Apr

Adult coloring books are all the rage. But what can be better than combining a relaxing and creative pastime with truths from God’s word? If you want to go a bit deeper with God, consider these two from Bethany House.

The Glory of The Messiah

An Immersive, Creative Journey with the Messiah

While we may know what the Bible says about the Messiah, do we truly know him? In the rush of life, it can be hard to quiet ourselves enough to see and experience his glory. But now you can.

In this one-of-a-kind coloring experience, you will go on a journey through the Bible. Each beautiful, hand-drawn picture illustrates a pivotal prophecy and its fulfillment in the Messiah. Every spread features Old and New Testament Scripture passages from the Tree of Life Bible translation as well as a key Hebrew word, and its English translation, from the text.

As you color and create, open your heart to meditate on these prophecies — and their fulfillment in Jesus — and discover the glory of the Messiah anew.

Guest Post from Kathy Ide

I’ve always loved Christian fiction, and I’ve seen the power of fiction to touch hearts and change lives, both firsthand and hearing about the experiences of others. But you know, in my quiet times with the Lord, reading a chapter from a novel just doesn’t seem quite appropriate. So a devotional with short fiction stories seemed like a great solution. And you can take these purse-sized devotionals wherever you go, to read when you have a few minutes of down time. It’s a great way to get “inspiration on the go”. And they make fantastic gifts for friends and loved ones.

Giveaway!

To celebrate her tour, Kathy is giving away:

1st – 4th place winners: A set of all four devotionals in the series.
5th & 6th place winners: An autographed copy of 21 Days of Grace with a novel written by one of the contributing authors!!

My Impressions:

Creativity and quiet time combine in this fun, relaxing and encouraging book from Tyndale Publishers. Gratitude: A Prayer and Praise Coloring Journal has everything you need to bring meaning to your time with God. I love the interesting illustrations to color, the prayers that speak to deep needs, the accompanying Bible verses for meditation and memorization, and the space dedicated to writing out concerns, questions and requests. Its hardback presentation makes it a sturdy companion for your purse, backpack or briefcase — easy to take along with you wherever you need to go! Gratitude is the theme and isn’t that something we need to keep in the front of our minds when spending time with God? There is so much to be thankful for even in the midst of busyness, and this coloring journal will remind you of that.

Recommended.

Audience: older teens and adults.
