I found this week’s Broke and The Bookish Top 10 Tuesday challenge interesting and a bit sad. The goal is to present worthy books that have under 2000 ratings on Goodreads. Well I had an easy time of it, finding some really great books I loved, loved, loved, hence the sadness. Make sure to check the link above to see what other worthy books have less than superstar ratings.
When I saw this week’s challenge, I did a quick check of some really, really great books and found that they were under the 2000 rating threshold. Some are award winners! Award. Winners. All were books I would highly recommend. Please don’t pass these up because they don’t fit in your regular genre or the authors are unfamiliar. If you give them a chance you may find another must-read author!

All are really great. Take a look at Words. It was Yttrup’s debut novel.
sadly… the only ones on this list that I’ve read are Flame of Resistance and Stones for Bread – both of which I did love though! LOL. More for the TBR pile 😉

I just ordered the audiobook of City of Tranquil Light today! I had put it on my TBR list after seeing Sherry at Semicolon’s review. I just took a quick look at your review as well – love the phrase that they’re “extraordinary in their ordinariness.” I loved, loved, loved Words by Ginny Yttrup. Unfortunately I haven’t like her subsequent books as well, but I loved that one.
You are going to love Caldwell’s book. I have liked Ytrupp’s books. Invisible is another favorite of mine.

Burning sky is one of my favorite books from the past few years!
I’ve been packing up books in preparation for a move, and I know I ran across a copy of Stones for Bread. Will have to move that up on my to be read list.
