1 Apr

UnknownOnly God Can Make A Kitten, written by award-winning author Rhonda Gowler Greene and illustrated by bestselling artist Laura J. Bryant, follows a conversation between a mother and child as the child repeatedly asks “Mama, who made . . . ?” In the end, children learn that God is responsible for everything in creation — including kittens!

I think I always enjoyed drawing and was fortunate to have a creative mother and enthusiastic art teachers in school. I attended the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore where I studied painting, printmaking and sculpture.
In 1997, after many years of searching for the ultimate job, I set my sites on a career in children’s books. Illustrating children’s books has given me an endless supply of creative freedom and joy.

I currently live in the beautiful town of Asheville, NC.

My Impressions:

I loved Only God Can Make A Kitten written by Rhonda Gowler Greene and illustrated by Laura J. Bryant. With beautifully detailed illustrations and a rhyming story, this book is a tale of God’s creation. A very busy boy and his mother and little sister explore the world around them. His curiosity about all the things he encounters is the perfect way to teach about God’s love, care, provision and creative nature. Every aspect of nature — from baby birds, rocks, rain and stars — is seen through the lens of God. Only God Can Make A Kitten is the perfect book to share with your child.

Recommended.

Audience: children ages 4-8.
